Creating habits in your business is a good thing — and also a good thing for you to do in your personal life, but today we are going to talk about creating habits such as learning something new.
If you can continually learn new things in your business, then you can hire the right people to do the work.
When you learn these things, you don’t have to do the work, but you will know how the work is to be done, and then you can instruct someone and you will know if they are doing it correctly or not.

I dealt with this once in my fire safety business. While talking to Sue one day, I knew we were going to need a programmer for this one type of thing that we needed done.
However, no one, including myself or my staff knew how to do this particular thing, so we got to talking and were like, “How will we know if he or she is doing the job right?”
When you learn and you know, it can save you thousands of dollars in the long run.
This is all about making your company great and finding the right people to help you reach the goals you want, so if you can make learning one of those habits, you will go far.
You could block off a little as an hour a week to learn –and do it on the same day each week, which will make you begin to form the habit of learning.
Use the Internet for Learning
This is the 21st century which means you have so many resources for learning right at your fingertips — and the best part is most are free.
Schools, universities, and other places do not publicize that this kind of info is out there because they do not want you to know how much you have at your fingertips.
Now, I recently had a discussion with my son who is in A level right now, he is 17. And the schools say he has to get 3 top scores in this level, and then he will go to college and get those top scores there before he can get a job.
Now, my advice to him is that he does not have to listen to all of that at the school in order to succeed, because there are plenty of opportunities out there that they have not told him about.
If he actually wants to start learning, he can just dive right in because these courses are not usually filled with fluff and filler.
Colleges cannot teach things like proper social media, simply because it changes too fast. By the time it gets approved for a curriculum, then it is already out of date.
Here’s Where You Can Learn
Google: This is one of the most popular places to learn. Simply put in “how to” and whatever you are looking for. Do this and see exactly how many results come up.
YouTube: Youtube is just like Google but with demonstration. Do it the same way and watch all the results come pouring in.
Podcasts: Podcasts are great for you to listen to when you have some dead time like driving or grocery shopping or anything like that. You’re listening here and learning aren’t you?
Webinars: People do live training and learning sessions through webinars all the time. I do one every single month.
Apps: There are apps for everything these days. There are even apps for helping you to improve your golf swing.
The beauty of all of these things is that it is learning on demand.
Membership Sites: We have the Owners Club, which you can sign up for by clicking here. It’s free and it is a great learning place.
When you join, you get to join our exclusive Facebook group, which is another place to learn where everybody helps each other.
Other places are like Khan Academy, Code Academy, Creative Live, Linda, Udemy, and many others. Make learning a habit for 2017. You will learn and you will progress.
