For those of you listening right now, the Marketing for Owners podcast always starts out as a video. Did you know that? I use my iphone, a tripod, a microphone and some lighting, but really you don’t even need that.
There are simple ways to use video for your business and today I am going to share 4 easy ways with you so that you can get started.

#1 Unboxing Videos
For example, if you sell something online, how about making a product video? You could make an unboxing video which is huge right now.
We do this at Fire Protection Online. We show the box, we talk about the details of it, and then we open it up and show you what you are actually getting. It works great.
#2 Interview and Video One of Your Suppliers In Action
If you are a restaurant who serves organic produce on the menu, why not get up really early one morning, take a ride with your supplier and film some of their day?
Now, if you are going to do something like this, be sure and grab yourself a mono pod. They are great for taking the shakiness out of a moving video.
You can interview the farmers or the pickers and have them talk about what they are picking, how it’s grown, etc. It makes for great video footage.
This will show the people that come to your website just how fresh your food is. Things like this can really help your business along.
#3 Informative Video
With an informative video, you pick a topic for your business and talk about why having it is important. We can use a lawyer for example.
A lawyer sells wills, so they could make a video about why you need one, when you should buy it, why you need to think about having one.
You can make the video look informal by using a tripod which you can pick up on Amazon and then you just sit on the edge of your desk and make your video.
Talk to the camera as if you had someone sitting right in front of you.
#4 Thank You Videos
You can make thank you videos that can be plugged into the invoice or purchase page on your website. These videos simply thank the customer for their purchase and invite them back again.
I make these in the warehouse at Fire Protection Online and they are real videos of my staff working in the background.
I simply tell them, “Thank you for doing business with us, etc”.
These video tips will help you do more for your business in this technology age. I am sure you can think of other ways to do video that will help your business as well.
Monday Book Recommendation
Today is Monday and that means it is time for a book of the week. This is my second favorite book in my top five books report and it is called Built to Sell by John Warrillow.
I am reading another of his books right now and in a couple of weeks I will be interviewing him for the Expert Interview Series here.
This is a fantastic read and I am not going to say anymore than that. You will just have to take my word for it.
Go look it up and purchase a copy, or you can go to itunes and leave a review for the podcast and then let me know which book you would like and I will send it to you for free!
