So . . .change. Scary! Change is a scary thing, but we have to continually evolve. Without change, we become complacent. so let me give you a few examples of what I am talking about.
Now, these might not pertain to your business persay, I know that they don’t pertain to mine — but as I said, these are examples.
Take someone like Apple. When it started it was a computer company. Is it a computer company today? No. I think Apple describes themselves as a design company.

They moved from computers into smartphones. Everyone thought they were going to go into tv’s, and some think they still will, but not sure if there will be enough profit for that or not.
However, Apple is now going to be making cars. It has not been officially announced, but they are evolving and going with the flow.
How about in the car world? In 10 years time there are going to be self driving cars. Places like Lyft and Uber and taxi companies are evolving and creating their own self driving cars now.
What about old fashioned car companies? Are they going to sit back and just be complacent or will they actually evolve and get on the bandwagon?
This can happen in many things. So let’s take it down to the business we own.
If you have a shop or store, are you just waiting for someone to walk in the door? Or are you doing something about it?
Are you asking these customers for their email address? You just put it in while they are checking out or have a little kiosk right at the register where they can enter it themselves.
This way you can keep in touch and send them offers.
Have you ever had a special opening like a black out day or black out evening that is just for clients only.
Simply get a few treats and drinks and give something of a little value.
Are you staying complacent or getting on with the times?
If you have been in business for 20 years and find it hard to get new customers, why not look up past customers who aren’t buying anymore and let them know you have new items available and ask them if you can come by and show them.
Are you getting out there? There are other ways of getting business and younger people who are just getting out of college are all taught these things upon leaving so they are ready to get in there and hustle.
Social media is just that — social media — snapchat, Facebook, etc. We just call them social media but the younger crowd grew up with them. If you don’t change, then you will fail. Simple as that.
Your customers used to love you and they still love you but everyone is getting lazy — me especially. I am the laziest one of all.
I would much rather buy something online cheaper than going out and visiting a local business.
So — do you have a website? If not, you are missing out. There are a myriad of things you can do. You just have to make baby steps. Not major steps, just one thing at a time.
What if you are mom blogger with little kids and you have a blog now? Guess what, those kids grow up so what do you plan to do with your blog later on in life? Do you have those plans in place?
Everyone needs to have direction and evolve their plans and change every once in a while. We are not giving up selling things. I mean, Amazon will always be around, but you just need to stay with it and start changing.
