3 Great Ideas for the Perfect Lead Magnet #617

If you do not want the pressure of finding new clients all the time, then you need them to be coming to you constantly asking to be your client.

There is a way to do this, and that is through lead generation. If you can passively collect leads then you can create a great list of potential clients and customers.

A lead is anyone who you can potentially sell to in the future, so a lead magnet is something you generate that will draw these people to you.

Therefore, what I mean is a magnet “attracts”, so you want to create something that will attract leads — or potential customers your way.

One of the problems that people face when they create these magnets is that they are not as good as they could be or — it is all wrong for the market and niche and is not applicable to the subject.

The lead magnet should lead on to your product or service and quite often it doesn’t. You offer a huge download — about 150 pages and you think this is a great value — and it may be. But — the problem is that your reader is not really investing in anything other than being on your list.

This is how marketing online works. You create a magnet that you will use that they in turn will give you permission to market to them.

What kind of lead magnet can you create? Here are 3 simple ones that you can use. I would recommend you create something that is one single sheet that they can download.  No bigger than 2 pages, but one page if possible.

#1 A Top 5 Resource Guide

If you are a photographer, you can create a top 5 items in my photography bag. Your people want to know because you are a professional and they want to know if they are using the right thing or not.

What you are using will make them want to use that too.

You may be a landscape gardener so you can share with them the top 5 tools you use every day.

#2 A Money Saving Checklist

Do I need to say more? 5 or 10 tips on how to save money related to your industry or using the things you sell.

Even if it is a boring mundane subject, people want to save money.

#3 Myth Busters or Facts

Everyone loves to learn about facts so try creating a sheet with 10 facts about your business or your products and how they can benefit the customer.

Or even turn it around and bust a myth they might have heard. Anything like that can work.
